Chicken Parmesan Skillet

Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 1 lb 98% fat-free uncooked ground chicken breast
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper freshly ground
- 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
- 4 basil leaves torn
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Coat an ovenproof 9 or 10-inch skillet with cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, combine chicken with garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Transfer to prepared skillet and using your fingers, spread into a thin layer that covers bottom of skillet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven, spoon marinara over top, and sprinkle with both types of cheese. Return to oven and bake until cheese is golden brown and pebbly, about 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from oven and garnish with basil
- Serving size: 1/4 of skille.
Notes
Serve with small serving of pasta (or zoodles) tossed with a little extra marinara sauce.
